Self-Supporting Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) Foils

MICROMATTER™ Self-supporting DLC foils are shipped fully annealed.  No additional heat treatment is required. MICROMATTER™ DLC Foils may have a mirror-like or crinkled surface.

Micromatter™ DLC Foils can be stored at room temperature, but should not be exposed to moisture or solvent vapors.

Generally, MICROMATTER™ DLC Foils should only be handled with suitable tweezers. Touching the foils with bare fingers may reduce their lifetime.

MICROMATTER™ DLC Foils can easily be cut to size using a standard utility blade.  It is recommended to use a continuous razor type blade with a reinforced upper edge.

The foil should rest on a smooth, soft surface, such as several layers of filter paper.  Place the blade across the foil at the desired spot and push down hard.  Do not cut the foil by moving the blade sideways ("sawing").
